The Standard has been developed over three decades and guarantees a high level of sustainable operations. It includes 44 criteria divided into four groups and is supported by over 385 compliance indicators. The areas included focused on the environment, sustainable management, social-economic impact, and cultural heritage. Applicable indicators vary by geographical area and local factors. The Standard covers three different levels ranked from lowest to highest being; Certified, Gold & Platinum. The certification is confirmed annually and requires that more than 50% of the criteria’s related indicators are achieved.
